What I love here is the atmosphere: relaxed, sunny, and international. You meet riders from all walks of life, and the surf camps in the region each have their own vibe. Algarve Watersport

Algarve Watersport is one of the camps I had the most fun at in Lagos. The atmosphere is young, dynamic, and everything is super well organized, especially if you want to progress quickly in surfing. What I loved was their highly educational approach: the coaches really take the time to explain and analyze each session, and push you to surpass yourself while always keeping a smile on your face.

The camp itself is stunning: swimming pool, garden, rooftop, comfortable accommodations, and delicious home-cooked meals. In the morning, you'll head out in a van to the best spots on the south or west coast, depending on the conditions. The gear is impeccable, and the atmosphere in the water is always friendly.

This is definitely a great option if you want a surf camp in Lagos that combines serious learning, comfort, and fun. I have great memories of it—and I've made real progress!

Tiny Whale Surf Lodge

Tiny Whale Surf Camp is clearly one of the highest-quality surf camps I've experienced in Portugal. Nestled in a peaceful corner of Bensafrim, just a stone's throw from Lagos, this camp offers a true haven of well-being. Everything is exquisitely designed: the welcome, the house with its pool, the healthy meals, the little details that make all the difference.

But what I really loved was the level of coaching. Every day, you go in search of the best waves with a dedicated coach, you analyze your sessions on video, you work on your dry technique, and you really progress. And as a bonus: daily yoga for balance, stretching, breathing… The perfect combo.

It's certainly not the cheapest surf camp. But if you want a premium, personalized stay, where everything is designed to ensure you enjoy yourself and improve your skills, Tiny Whale is a sure bet. A real gem that combines progression, relaxation, and comfort.

The Salty Lodge

During my last trip to Lagos, I put my suitcases down at Salty Lodge, and honestly, it was the perfect combination of comfort, independence, and surf vibes. The surf camp is in a great location, right in the city center, a stone's throw from the beach, and surrounded by great restaurants. The place is modern, bright, and incredibly well-decorated—perfect for chilling out after a session.

I opted for an apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, which allowed me to live at my own pace, while retaining the flexibility to book lessons or surf trips through their partners. The staff is top-notch: welcoming, professional, and always available to give tips on the day's spots or the conditions.

It's not your typical surf camp with dorms and communal living, but if you want a little more comfort while still maintaining a true surfing spirit, The Salty Lodge is a great option. Personally, I loved the total freedom combined with the luxury of stylish accommodation.

Climb and Surfcamp Quinta Formosinho

I've rarely seen a surf camp as well-designed for families as Climb and Surfcamp Quinta Formosinho. Located in Praia da Luz, a quiet little corner just outside Lagos, it's the perfect place to combine a relaxing holiday with family surfing sessions. What I immediately loved was how they integrate everyone: children, parents, beginners and intermediates.

While the kids learn to stand up on their first foam with ultra-patient instructors, parents can either surf too or enjoy a moment of relaxation in the sun. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, and super reassuring. The team really takes care of them, and each day is well-paced with lessons, free time, and shared moments.

It's not just a surf camp for kids; it's a real family surfing holiday, with everything you need to make sure everyone enjoys their time. Honestly, it's a great surprise if you want to introduce your kids to surfing while treating yourself to a relaxing break under the Algarve sun.

The Surf Experience LAGOS

I spent a few days at The Surf Experience in Lagos, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. The place has that little something extra: a relaxed yet ultra-organized atmosphere. You can tell the team loves what they do, and that makes all the difference.

Surf sessions are tailored to everyone, whether you're a good surfer or a complete beginner. And between waves, we meet up on the terrace with others, enjoying a good meal or a coffee. It's simple, human, and hassle-free. I loved this "just like home" vibe, a surf trip in the sun.

Arenosa Surf Camp

I spent a magical week at Arenosa Surf Camp in Luz, near Lagos. This intimate setting (8 people max) clearly deserves its place among the 6 best surf camps in Lagos. Every day, we surfed the best spots in the area, with one coach for every 4 surfers and video analysis to help us progress quickly. In the afternoon, I practiced yoga to recover, and between sessions, I enjoyed the villa: swimming pool, tropical garden, rooftop with sea view... all just a 2-minute walk from the coast.
Delicious home-cooked meals, a relaxed atmosphere, and transfers available from Faro Airport: everything is designed to make you feel great. A perfect week to boost your surfing in a dream setting.
